Filming process:

The filming felt very beneficial for me because it was the first time i felt like a successful director, even though i feel like i did not do enough, i did get to the things i wanted to do with the previous projects. I was able to be assertive enough to encourage the script i wrote, and was able to communicate with Joe's grandfather in a clear way.

Final Project:

Evaluation:

Overall, i feel like this project went well. The guidelines were met, and the final product clearly showed that our group had a general understanding on the narrative theories.

Our group had something that was key: communication. Due to clear communication, we were able to work as a unit with each person having some role. Even the basic of things did not have much hassle involved, such as carrying equipment, buying fake blood, who is going to film scene 1. Therefore, having a large group did cause isolation with members, i think everyone felt like they had a voice. It was just the matter of the choice if they want to use it.

The final product looked similar, a little like a shell, of what i envisioned. During filming, i am surprised it came out as comically edgy as i wanted it to be. A few people were scared the dialogue may come across as offensive but, as i wanted, people found the dialogue funny due to how near ridiculous it is to hear at 2017.

The one criticism i had from a peer was that the final project looked more like a trailer than a short film. I can understand why he would state this criticism due to the disorderly flow of the scenes. It can remind someone of a trailer, however the final project have all the suitable conventions to be labelled as a short film. The narrative is pretty easy to follow, even when you take the approach the other members of my group took; using a less linear structure with the narrative.
